SXSW rejection and more
Hi everyone! Finally… it’s an update! And as always, apologies for the lack of communication. In October I submitted the rough cut of the film to a festival. I was waiting to hear from the panel and late January I heard that it didn’t get chosen. While it was disappointing not to have it accepted, I realise it was was a really ambitious move for me to submit it to SXSW (yep!). They did watch it three times in full though.. which can only be a good thing, right? The email to let me know was also really nice (10/10 for their customer service).
Had the film been accepted I would currently be rushing and stressing and using all my annual leave to get it finished and go to Texas. I also might not have been happy with it as a whole. So not having it screened means I can put more time into getting it right and sorted out for you all to see 🙂
Like I said in my last update, the story line is finished. The interview footage is set. I’m currently finishing off the cutaways, graphics and audio (with help from some talented people). I’m working as quickly as I can around other commitments (mainly work) to get it finished. I’m really hoping to be able to share it very very very soon!! I’ve been speaking to a few people about possible screenings so get in touch if that’s something you’re interested in helping with.
Oh yeah and if you pledged for the DVD perk via the Indiegogo campaign please make sure your home address is up to date. In fact – everyone just make sure your addresses are up to date on here 🙂
Keep following on Facebook and Twitter – I’ve been sharing various articles and news relating to women/music that you might find interesting.
Thanks again everyone for being so patient!
